Aubrey Levinthal's Solo Exhibition Reviewed by Lev Feigin for Hyperallergic
Aubrey Levinthal’s second solo exhibition with Nancy Margolis Gallery was reviewed by Lev Feigin for Hyperallergic on May 28, 2019. Yet despite the symbols of real life, Levinthal’s paintings are also fantasies. Her self-portraits rarely look like her. Her ever-changing avatars exist in a world that has been transmuted and reimagined. Shifting freely between third-person and first-person point of views, her work investigates a divided self among the domestic realm that is her own viscerally felt creation.
