Zoom Talk: Brian Rego 2024

On April 13, 2024, Nancy Margolis Gallery presented a Zoom Artist Talk for Brian Rego, moderated by Philadelphia painter and educator Scott Noel. The event was in conjunction with Rego’s second solo exhibition with NMG Reasons I Stay. You can view the full conversation below or by clicking here.

Based in Charleston, SC, Brian Rego was born in Santa Clara, CA. He received his B.F.A. in Painting at the University of South Carolina (2004) and was awarded the Ed Yaghjian Award for Distinguished Undergraduate Work. He received his M.F.A. in Painting at the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts (2007) and afterward co-founded the painting collective known as Perceptual Painters. In 2022, Rego’s work was published in the book Art in the Making, Essays by Artists About What They Do, by the Fisher Press; and in 2023, Rego was awarded the Blackwell Prize in Painting from the University of West Georgia.
